The storage system is managed via NRG's own balance group on the Swiss energy market: ancillary services, arbitrage, peak shaving and self-consumption optimisation generate revenue around the clock.
Your compensation is transparently structured, either as fixed rental income or as a proportional share of the storage system's revenues (revenue share). No hidden costs, no surprises.
Own Balance Group
NRG controls the storage via its own balance group. This means: direct market participation, optimal ancillary services marketing and maximum revenue without intermediaries.
NRG Solutions offers two models for battery storage projects. The INVEST model is aimed at capital providers with direct participation. The RENTAL model targets site partners without equity commitment.

Property Owners with Grid Connections
An existing grid connection with spare capacity is ideal. The storage system uses the existing infrastructure and generates additional value creation without structural changes to the building.
In a free consultation, we assess the suitability of your site: available space, grid connection, access and zoning compliance. Within a few days, you receive an initial assessment of whether the RENTAL model works for your property.
NRG analyses the revenue potential of your site: grid tariffs, ancillary services market data, arbitrage potential and local conditions. You receive a transparent business case with revenue scenarios.
Together we define the compensation model: fixed rental income or revenue share. The contract governs duration, revenue distribution, decommissioning and options transparently. No hidden costs.
NRG organises planning, building permits, delivery and installation. The containerised storage system is placed on your site and connected to the grid. Typical project duration: 6-12 months from contract signing.
NRG manages the storage via our own balance group: ancillary services marketing, arbitrage, peak shaving and self-consumption optimisation. You receive regular reports and your agreed compensation.

As a site partner, you incur no investment costs. NRG finances, builds and operates the storage system. You provide the space and receive compensation for it, either as fixed rent or as a revenue share of the storage system's earnings.
For a 5 MWh containerised storage system, you need approx. 80 m² of paved area plus access for truck delivery. The area does not need to meet any special requirements. An existing grid connection with spare capacity is optimal but not mandatory.
Typical contract durations are 15-20 years. The duration depends on the compensation model and storage size. After the contract ends, the storage is professionally decommissioned, or you optionally take it over.
NRG bears the full operational and maintenance risk. Repairs, spare parts and insurance are included in our full-service package. The storage system is monitored around the clock, and faults are proactively resolved.
Yes. In addition to the RENTAL model, NRG also offers an INVEST model. As an investor, you acquire the storage system, and NRG optionally handles operations. The return is higher, but the risk lies with you. Both models can be compared in the initial consultation.
